Shoreline Youth Jam

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Shoreline Youth Jam 2012 Cancelled

SHORELINE YOUTH JAM 2012, the City-wide youth musical talent competition scheduled for Friday, April 6th, at the Shoreline Community College PUB has been cancelled.

Organizers cited a low quantity of entries this year as the reason for cancellation. After a wonderful program of performers in its first year of 2011, the 2012 open competition for any musical performer or group 18 years old and under residing in Shoreline, received an insufficient number of entries to support the competition format by the submittal deadline of March 16, 2012.

Shoreline Youth Jam Committee organizers from several Shoreline neighborhoods, working with support from City of Shoreline and Shoreline Community College staff, plan to meet later this year to determine what the future of Youth Jam may be. It is hoped that an event of this kind, showcasing the musical talents of Shoreline’s youth in an open format, may return in the future.

Please feel free to contact the author and/or City of Shoreline staff with your ideas for supporting a Youth Jam style event, and/or other possible venues for the organization of local performances to showcase the musical talents of Shoreline youth.
