Which Thanksgiving Camp are You in?

The camp who runs 5k’s on thanksgiving… or the one who marries into the camp who runs 5k’s on thanksgiving!?
Whichever one you pick, Richmond beach has a 16-year tradition of making the Turkey Day Fun Run accessible, challenging, and of course “fun” for all.
The history of the RB Turkey Run started with Don Wilson’s family and has been growing ever since.
We have a long history of creating unique themes. Previous themes included superheroes, pirates, and pajamas. Last year’s theme was “Sleep, Run, Eat, Repeat”. If you made it up the big hill finish, you certainly earned an extra slice of pumpkin pie at dinner.
We are still working on the final theme this year but know our strong community will come out in force to support in themed costumes, strollers, their furry friends, and more!
If you’re not totally familiar with the route, neighbors adorn their best costumes and run, jog, walk through scenic Richmond Beach on Thanksgiving morning, rain or shine. The course for joggers/runners is 3.4 miles/5.5 km and a shorter 1.6 mile/2.6 km course has been planned for walkers. Park in the bottom lot of Richmond Beach Saltwater Park or walk to the entrance of the park start/finish line.
If you’re interested in volunteering for the event or you’re an advertiser and want to sponsor various items like water bottles or other swag, please reach out to the RB Board directly.
This is a free event, but please consider making a suggested $5 per participant donation to help fund events like this in the community.
So regardless of how you may feel about running on Thanksgiving morning, there’s something for everyone in Richmond Beach this coming Turkey Day. Mark your calendars and we hope to see you out there!
