18th Annual Run: "Bootcamp" Theme to Benefit Hopelink
9am this Thanksgiving at “188-to-the-top” of Saltwater Park, lace up your running shoes, put on your eye black and camo fatigues, and join the community for a spirited day of fitness, fun, and giving back! The “Bootcamp 5K” promises to be the perfect way to kick off the holiday with an energizing outdoor group workout that brings together neighbors of all ages and abilities.
Set against the backdrop of fall in Richmond Beach, this year’s fun run features a dynamic bootcamp theme that adds a fresh twist to the classic turkey trot. Participants will not only enjoy a scenic 5K course, but also have the opportunity to take part in fitness-inspired challenges along the route, making it a great option for seasoned athletes and beginners alike. Whether you're looking to improve your personal best or just want to enjoy a morning walk with family and friends, the event is designed for everyone. This year the run will be organized by two outstanding volunteers in our local fitness community - Bethany & Sean. Not only have they donated their time and resources to planning this event, but they will also be hosting day-of challenges for all abilities. Whether it’s pre-run pushups and squats, ¼-mi of lunges on Richmond Beach Dr., or carrying canned food for the entire run, they’ll plan something for everyone.
Outside Up Fitness, owned by Bethany Gipson, offers outdoor group fitness classes in Shoreline, focusing on bootcamp, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), and strength sessions. With a welcoming environment for all fitness levels, classes take place at local parks, and participants can enjoy community-oriented workouts in the fresh air, often featuring dynamic challenges to keep routines engaging.
Lose & Build, founded by Sean Masters, offers personalized fitness coaching focused on sustainable weight loss, strength building, and energy enhancement. Combining exercise, nutrition, and mindset coaching, the program is designed to create long-term lifestyle changes for individuals looking to achieve breakthroughs in health and fitness.
